I’m nearly positive that I will be spending my first moments in Guild Wars 2 filling in all the appropriate information to build my perfect Norn Ranger. The one race that has a chance of changing that is the Sylvari. ArenaNet’s version of a wood elf is, without beating around the bush (get it?), gorgeous. That is, at least from the sketches and few character models we’ve seen thus far. If the final version of the jolly green not-so-giants look as good in practice, I may have to say adios to the great white northmen.
Before I make that decision, I’m eagerly awaiting a chance to play one first hand. I’d like to see how the armor sets look, how the animations are, and get a general feel for the Sylvari story and starting area. While it’s great that you can make any class and race combination that you want in Guild Wars 2, the Norn and Sylvari are the only ones that I feel really fit that ideal Ranger look. Unfortunately, according to this tweet, the upcoming beta weekend won’t be when I get my first taste.
Maybe next time.
I wonder if Sylvari can grow a great big bushy beard…

There is a rumor that they won’t be having either the Sylvari or Asura during the BWE so that they have something new saved for release. I really want to try an Asura Engineer and a Sylvari necromancer with the nightmare court would be awesome.
oooh, Slyvari necro WOULD be cool. I’ll most likely stick with the Norn because it reminds me of my Norse Hunter from DAoC, but something about being that large of a target is unsettling. I mean….the Norn are freekin HUGE. I usually like being the most normal sized person possible.
u know humans get 2 hell hounds as pets? So a human ranger is probably the best combo. I’m waiting to see Asura racial to see if it gets a golem pet. So far I’m going Asura Ranger and Sylvari Necro like Jazz.
I wonder if they really have a twig and 2 berries?
While its always subject to change you can check out the Racial Skills on the wiki. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Racial_skill
Ya looks like Asura and Sylvari are incomplete with their lists.
